The worst hand in poker went up against the best. Watch what happened below

Talk about a bad beat.

7-2 is the worst hand in poker. It's difficult to make a straight, and any pair or flush that you hit will be pretty weak. Pocket aces, meanwhile, are the best possible cards you can be dealt in No-Limit Hold Em. AA will win 85% of the time pitted against random hands.

So, when Brandon Caputo looked down at AA at the $3,000 No-Limit Hold 'em World Series of Poker final table, he was more than happy to raise. Harvey Mathews came along for the ride with 7-2 suited.  The 10-2-3 flop gave Matthews a pair, but Caputo was still way ahead. .. until the dealer smacked the next two cards on the table, and Matthews hit a backdoor flush.

Brandon Caputo was knocked out in 5th place and walked away with a $87,288 payday in the $3,000 buy-in event.
